To find your Mac model, memory, storage space, and macOS version, choose About This Mac from the Apple menu. If your Mac isn't compatible with OS X El Capitan, the installer will let you know. Installation Method¶. While MongoDB can be installed manually via a downloaded.tgz tarball as described in this document, it is recommended to use the brew package manager on your system to install MongoDB if possible. Using a package manager automatically installs all needed dependencies, provides an example mongod.conf file to get you started, and simplifies future upgrade.

I recently tried installing MongoDB on my Mac using Homebrew. I did it exactly like t's described here: http://docs.mongodb.org/manual/tutorial/install-mongodb-on-os-x/
I'm aware of the fact that you're usually not providing support for a pre-release version, but I'm sure that fixing a bug before many other people will experience it, is a great thing to do.
On the first try of executing the command, I get a different error than on the second and on all other attempts. I've attached a screenshot of both errors.
Oh, I forgot to say that as soon as I execute the install-command, my mac's fan also starts turning really fast (without performance issues). As the installation finishes with an error, it just stops.

I need to download the El Capitan to install on my Mac computer. What is the best place to download the El Capitan dmg or El Capitan iso.
Is this a good question?
Comments:
I've been looking for El Capitan for weeks and today I finally managed to get it.
The Appstore no longer has OS X El Capitan available to download.
To solve this issue follow this link: http://bit.ly/ElCaptanOriginalOSX
.
The Appstore only has updates but not the original OS. So If you did not download El Capitan before it was removed from the App Store then you will not be able to get it from the Appstore anymore. You can now only download it via alternative sources, Just make sure they are trusted sources though. Hence I recommended the link above.

@katemor Its not true that App Store no longer has El Capitan as download. It does not have it as download, if your Apple-ID has never registered a machine with El Capitan. Otherwise they are still there.
And your link points to a place, which charges $20 for Apple software. Not quite legal.
